Nigeria’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, Abdulrahman Dambazau, has visited the Huawei EBC Exhibition Centre in China as part of ongoing efforts to advance Nigeria’s technological transformation agenda and strengthen economic diplomacy under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
During the visit, Ambassador Dambazau toured Huawei’s state-of-the-art digital facilities alongside the company’s senior management team, gaining firsthand insight into a range of innovative solutions driving global development. The exhibition showcased advancements in smart governance, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, digital power systems, and other emerging technologies.

The delegation also explored Huawei’s digital technologies that support modern electric vehicles and smart infrastructure, highlighting the company’s role in shaping the future of transportation and urban development.
Speaking during the visit, Ambassador Dambazau acknowledged Huawei’s longstanding presence in Nigeria and its contributions to the country’s telecommunications and digital ecosystem. He noted that the company, which entered the Nigerian market in 1999, has grown to become one of the country’s leading telecommunications infrastructure providers, supporting major operators and delivering enterprise, cloud, and digital power solutions.
He described Huawei’s growth trajectory as a reflection of discipline, innovation, determination, and commitment to technological advancement.
While commending the company’s achievements, the ambassador urged Huawei to intensify efforts aimed at empowering Nigeria’s youthful population through technology transfer, digital skills training, capacity building, and other human capital development initiatives.
According to him, strategic investments in youth development are essential as technology continues to reshape the global labour market, with an increasing number of future jobs requiring digital and ICT-related competencies.
He stressed that stronger partnerships between Nigeria and global technology firms would help equip young Nigerians with the skills needed to compete and succeed in the evolving digital economy.
The visit highlights Ambassador Dambazau’s commitment to leveraging Nigeria–China relations to attract technology, expertise, and strategic partnerships that support national development objectives. It also reflects ongoing efforts to accelerate Nigeria’s digital transformation, expand opportunities for young people, and advance sustainable economic growth in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
