The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, joined the Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, heads of security and intelligence agencies, alongside senior Nigerian and United Kingdom officials at the Fourth Nigeria–UK Security and Defence Partnership (SDP4) Dialogue held in Abuja.
The high-level meeting took place at the Office of the National Security Adviser between 22 and 24 June 2026 and was led by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, with participation from the United Kingdom National Security Adviser, Jonathan Powell.
The dialogue reaffirmed the enduring strategic partnership between Nigeria and the United Kingdom in addressing contemporary security challenges and strengthening bilateral cooperation in defence and security matters.
Discussions focused on enhancing practical collaboration in counter-terrorism, intelligence sharing, cyber security, hybrid threat response, and institutional capacity building. The engagements also emphasized the importance of a whole-of-government approach to national and regional security.
Participants further highlighted shared commitments to strengthening resilience, promoting regional stability, and advancing sustainable peace through coordinated and mutually beneficial security cooperation between both countries.
