The Director of Personnel and Management (DPM) of Gwarzo Local Government Area, Hajiya Zulaihat Sabo Usman, has called on staff of the council to uphold the principles of discipline, punctuality, diligence, and integrity in the discharge of their duties to enhance efficient public service delivery.
She made the call during a meeting with Heads of Departments (HODs) and the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Gwarzo Branch, where she stressed the importance of strict adherence to civil service rules and regulations.
According to her, discipline, honesty, professionalism, and compliance with established public service guidelines remain the foundation of effective governance and quality service delivery. She noted that the Kano State Government, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, is committed to strengthening the public service through improved efficiency, accountability, and professionalism.
The Director urged Heads of Departments to lead by example by enforcing discipline within their respective departments and ensuring proper supervision of staff to promote productivity and compliance with official regulations.
She also encouraged workers to remain committed to their responsibilities, emphasizing that improved performance across the local government would contribute to better service delivery for residents of Gwarzo.
In a related development, Hajiya Zulaihat appealed to staff and residents of Gwarzo Local Government Area to participate in the ongoing Permanent Voter Card (PVC) registration exercise, noting that only 11 days remain before the registration closes.
She described voter registration as a vital civic responsibility that enables eligible citizens to exercise their constitutional right to elect leaders of their choice during elections.
The DPM commended the Kano State Government for creating an enabling environment that has made the registration process more accessible and convenient for eligible residents.
She urged those who have yet to register to take advantage of the remaining days to obtain their PVCs before the registration deadline.
The meeting formed part of the local government’s efforts to strengthen public service performance while encouraging greater civic participation ahead of future electoral activities.
