Babangida charged athletes, coaches and organising secretaries to remain dedicated and disciplined in order to sustain Kano State’s impressive record in national and international sporting competitions.
He also called on sports stakeholders, philanthropists, wealthy individuals and corporate organisations to partner with the Commission in promoting sports development and complementing the efforts of the Kano State Government.
According to him, stronger public-private partnerships will help improve sporting infrastructure, nurture young talents and create more opportunities for athletes to excel.
The chairman, who has previously served in various capacities at both the state and federal levels, pledged to provide purposeful leadership that would reposition the Commission for greater achievements.
Earlier, the outgoing Acting Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Murtala Musa, expressed appreciation to the management, athletes, coaches and organising secretaries for their support during his tenure.
