The Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission (KSSC), Alhaji Muhammad Tukur Babangida, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving sports infrastructure and promoting excellence in sports administration across the state.
Babangida made the pledge during a surprise inspection visit to Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, where he was received by the stadium management, staff and numerous well-wishers.
The visit was his first official inspection of any facility under the Commission following the formal handover from his predecessor.
Addressing members of staff, the KSSC chairman urged them to remain dedicated to their responsibilities, particularly in the areas of stadium maintenance, cleanliness and effective facility management.
He called on the workforce to work as a team in actualising the Commission’s vision and transforming Sani Abacha Stadium into one of the country’s leading sporting facilities.
According to Babangida, the visit was aimed at strengthening the relationship between the Commission’s leadership and its workforce, while assessing the current condition of the stadium and identifying areas requiring government intervention.
He also appealed to sports stakeholders to continue partnering with the Commission to advance sports development and position Kano State as a leading sporting destination in Nigeria.
