The Kano State Government has paid a condolence visit to the National Secretary of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Comrade Wasila Ibrahim Ladan, and the Chairperson of the NAWOJ Jigawa State Chapter, Comrade Hauwa Ibrahim Ladan, following the death of their mother, Hajiya Sadiya Ibrahim Ladan.
The delegation, led by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, represented Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf during the visit to the family’s residence in Kuntau, Kano.
Delivering the Governor’s condolence message, the Commissioner described the late Hajiya Sadiya Ibrahim Ladan as a compassionate, selfless and exemplary woman whose life was devoted to the service of humanity.
He said the deceased was widely respected for her generosity, hospitality and commitment to helping people, noting that even after retiring from active medical practice, she continued to provide medical assistance to the sick and vulnerable whenever the need arose.
Comrade Waiya further described the late matriarch as a deeply religious, principled and upright woman who upheld the virtues of truth, justice and integrity. According to him, the values of discipline, hard work and strong faith she instilled in her children are reflected in their contributions to society.
He conveyed Governor Yusuf’s prayers for Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, accept her good deeds, grant her eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus, and give the family the strength and patience to bear the irreparable loss.
Responding on behalf of the family and the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, the National Chairperson of NAWOJ, Comrade Aisha Ibrahim, expressed appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Kano State Government for the condolence visit.
She described the gesture as a demonstration of compassion, solidarity and responsible leadership, noting that it further strengthens the relationship between government and the people.
Comrade Aisha also thanked friends, colleagues, associates, well-wishers and members of the public for their prayers and support since the passing of the family’s beloved mother, and prayed that Almighty Allah rewards everyone who stood by them during their moment of grief.
The Commissioner was accompanied by senior government officials and other dignitaries.
