The Federal Ministry of Education says all Federal Unity Colleges across the country will resume academic activities on Monday, September 14, 2026, as scheduled.
The Ministry, in a statement by its Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, said necessary arrangements had been put in place to ensure a safe, smooth and seamless commencement of the new academic session.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, gave the assurance, stressing that the safety and wellbeing of students and staff remain central to the Federal Government’s commitment to providing a secure and conducive learning environment.
Dr. Alausa said relevant security agencies had been duly informed of the resumption arrangements and were maintaining heightened vigilance around the Federal Unity Colleges and their immediate environments.
He explained that the coordinated security measures were aimed at protecting students, staff and members of school communities as academic activities resume nationwide.

The Minister therefore urged parents and guardians to remain calm, rely on official information and proceed with preparations for their children and wards to return to their respective Federal Unity Colleges on Monday.
He also directed school authorities to maintain close coordination with security agencies and other relevant authorities to facilitate an orderly and secure resumption.
Dr. Alausa called on students, parents, teachers, school administrators and other stakeholders to work together to maintain a peaceful, supportive and secure school environment.
The Minister stressed that the safety and wellbeing of learners remain a shared responsibility.

The Federal Ministry of Education says it will continue to monitor developments and take all necessary measures, in collaboration with relevant authorities, to ensure the safe and smooth resumption of academic activities in all Federal Unity Colleges.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s education system and ensuring that children have access to quality education in a safe and conducive learning environment, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
