This was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Assembly, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai.
Presenting the award to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Jibril Isma’il Falgore, the Clerk of the House, Alhaji Bashir Diso, said the Kano Assembly emerged first among the 36 State Houses of Assembly in the country.
Diso attributed the recognition to the Assembly’s efficiency in producing and circulating official reports of plenary proceedings within 24 hours.
He said the Association, whose membership extends across Nigeria and includes professionals from countries such as Ghana and Kenya, unanimously agreed that the Kano State House of Assembly deserved the recognition.
Speaking on the achievement, the Deputy Clerk of the Assembly, Alhaji Aminu Zubairu, said only a few countries globally surpass Nigeria in the timely production of parliamentary reports.
He noted that while many parliaments worldwide produce their Hansard reports within 24 hours, the Kano Assembly has consistently maintained the standard, thereby promoting transparency and accountability.

He attributed the achievement to the leadership of Speaker Falgore and the dedication of the Assembly’s staff.
According to him, the Assembly’s ability to maintain the reporting standard has also been supported by a conducive working environment and investment in modern equipment.
He said legislative staff are provided with laptops, computers and other necessary tools, while the Assembly continues to invest in equipment and facilities to meet international standards.
Zubairu, who led the delegation that received the award on behalf of the Assembly, commended Speaker Falgore for his support and commitment to the development of the legislature.
He said the recognition would further motivate the Assembly’s Hansard and verbatim reporting personnel to maintain professional standards and improve the quality and timeliness of legislative documentation.
