The Vice Chancellor of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil, Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai, has inaugurated the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2026 Conference of the Farm Management Association of Nigeria.
The inauguration ceremony, held on Wednesday at the University Council Chambers, marked the commencement of preparations for the national conference, which is expected to bring together academics, researchers, policymakers and stakeholders in Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
The event began with an opening prayer and the introduction of participants before a detailed presentation on the objectives of FAMAN and the importance of the 2026 conference.
Delivering the presentation, the National President of FAMAN, Professor Usman Haruna, highlighted the association’s commitment to advancing research, innovation and sustainable agricultural development in Nigeria. He noted that the conference would provide a platform for experts to exchange ideas and propose practical solutions to challenges facing the agricultural sector.
In his inaugural address, Professor Yakasai congratulated members of the Local Organising Committee on their appointment and expressed confidence in their ability to deliver a successful conference that would showcase ADUSTECH’s academic excellence and hospitality.
The Vice Chancellor reaffirmed the university’s commitment to supporting academic and professional associations whose activities contribute to national development, particularly in agriculture, science, technology and innovation.
He urged members of the committee to work with dedication, professionalism and teamwork to ensure the conference meets international standards and strengthens the university’s reputation as a centre of academic excellence.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Professor Abdu Yaro Muhammad, expressed appreciation to the Vice Chancellor, the National Executive of FAMAN and all stakeholders for their confidence and support.
He assured the university management and the association that the committee would work diligently to ensure the successful hosting of the 2026 FAMAN Conference.
