The newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the Kano State Ministry of Women Affairs, Children and Persons with Special Needs, Aishatu Abdulkadir, has assumed office with a pledge to deploy her experience and expertise toward improving the lives and wellbeing of women, children and persons with special needs across the state.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment of the Ministry, Bintu Nuhu Yakasai.
According to the statement, Aishatu Abdulkadir made the commitment while addressing members of staff, well-wishers and representatives of various health workers’ associations who gathered at the Ministry to welcome her during a ceremony marking her assumption of office.
She expressed appreciation to the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for finding her worthy of the appointment, describing it as a call to greater service and responsibility.
The Permanent Secretary assured the gathering that she would work diligently to fulfil the Ministry’s mandate and deliver meaningful results.
She called for the support, cooperation and constructive contributions of members of staff and other stakeholders, stressing that the Ministry remained open to ideas capable of improving its programmes and services.
Aishatu Abdulkadir emphasised the importance of teamwork, unity and professionalism, noting that meaningful progress could only be achieved through collective efforts and effective collaboration.
She also expressed optimism about working with the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children and Persons with Special Needs, Amina Abdullahi, whom she described as a capable and dynamic leader.
The Permanent Secretary said close collaboration with the Commissioner, management and staff would enable the Ministry to achieve greater milestones and effectively implement programmes and policies targeted at women, children and persons with special needs.
She urged staff to remain committed to their duties and assured them of her readiness to work closely with them toward building a stronger, more effective and responsive Ministry.
