The Kano State Fire Service, has rescued a 15-year-old boy from an open water at Ghari Dam in Ghari Local Government Area of the state.
According to the Service, a distress call was received at about 12:00 pm from a resident, Usman Garba, reporting that a boy had fallen into the dam. Firefighters from the Ghari Fire Station responded promptly to the emergency.
On arrival at the scene, the firefighters discovered the victim, identified as Yusuf Danliti, unconscious after falling into the open water.
He was successfully rescued and subsequently handed over to the Village Head of the area, Lawan Zangina, for further action.
Reacting to the incident, the Director of the Kano State Fire Service cautioned parents and guardians to be vigilant and closely monitor their children, particularly discouraging local swimming in open waters, which has continued to result in loss of lives.
The Kano State Fire Service reaffirmed its commitment to the protection of lives and property across the state.
