The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kano State Chapter, has commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Nigeria Police Force for their swift action in apprehending the suspects involved in the tragic murder of a woman and her children in Dorayi, Gwale Local Government Area.
In a statement, signed by the Chairperson, Sayyida Bahijja Malam Kabara
and the Assistant Secretary Comrade Aisha Muhammad Yanlleman,NAWOJ lauded the professionalism and commitment of the security agencies, noting that their prompt response has reassured the public and restored confidence in the state’s security system.
The association expressed deep sympathy for the bereaved family, describing the incident as a painful and irreparable loss. NAWOJ also extended condolences to the government and people of Kano State, stressing that the tragedy has touched the conscience of the entire nation.
NAWOJ urged families and communities to remain vigilant, highlighting that some individuals may be struggling with mental health challenges such as depression, which often go unnoticed. The association emphasized that early care and intervention could help prevent avoidable tragedies.
Calling for justice to take its full course, NAWOJ stressed that holding the perpetrators accountable would serve as a deterrent to others and reaffirm the rule of law. The association also prayed for peace, safety, and harmony in Kano State and across Nigeria.
