The newly sworn-in member representing Dawakin Kudu Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly, Yusuf Datti Hussaini, has pledged to provide effective legislative representation and promote grassroots development through people-oriented policies and meaningful projects.
Datti made the pledge while speaking to journalists at the Kano State House of Assembly shortly after his swearing-in, assuring constituents of his commitment to legislation that will improve their standard of living.

The lawmaker said his legislative agenda would prioritise motions and bills designed to address the developmental needs of Dawakin Kudu Constituency and bring development in line with internationally recognised standards.
He also pledged to work diligently to ensure the effective implementation of impactful projects and initiatives approved by the State House of Assembly.
Datti said addressing the developmental challenges facing Dawakin Kudu Constituency would require a well-coordinated approach, effective legislation and sustained commitment to projects and initiatives capable of improving residents’ living standards and delivering tangible benefits at the grassroots.

The lawmaker further called on his constituents to actively participate in the legislative process by monitoring motions and bills presented and passed by the Assembly.

The new lawmaker’s commitment to effective representation comes amid expectations from constituents for renewed legislative engagement and development initiatives in Dawakin Kudu.
He reiterated his determination to work towards improving the welfare of his constituents through effective lawmaking, strategic interventions and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

Datti’s emergence followed a by-election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of Kano State, where he contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He was subsequently sworn in by the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Isma’il Falgore, during a plenary session.
