The Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Board (BSPHCDB) has commended ZDLH CoP, with support from AHBN, AFENET, for its significant contributions to boosting immunization uptake and tracking across the state.
The ZDLH CoP is implemented by Africa Health Budget Network AHBN and African Field Epidemiology Network AFENET with Funding from GAVI.

ZDLH CoP in Borno Spurs Action on Sustainable Immunization Funding, Accountability
Speaking at a news conference after unveiling and validating the ZDLH Immunization Scorecard on Friday in Bauchi, BSPHCDB Executive Secretary Dr. Rilwanu Mohammed praised the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders under the ZDLH initiative.
Dr. Mohammed noted that out of Bauchi State’s 20 local government areas, 13 are still categorized as “zero-dose,” meaning many children in these areas have yet to receive any routine vaccination.
However, he acknowledged that the state has strengthened its surveillance system, leading to a notable improvement in immunization coverage and detection rates.
Highlighting the importance of the scorecard, he assured that observations and recommendations made during the validation process would be incorporated into the final version before its public release.

Dr. Mohammed also urged members of the ZDLH CoP to redouble their commitment to reaching every eligible child with vital immunization services.
Earlier, Co-chair of the ZDLH CoP who doubles as Director of Disease Control at the Board, Dr. Adamu Mohammed, highlighted the critical role of the CoP in resource mobilization, advocacy, and budget tracking.
“With AHBN’s support, we aim to reduce the number of zero-dose children and strengthen immunization processes,” he said.
Also speaking, AFENET State Lead, Dr. Habila Ismaila, lauded the unwavering support from AHBN, the leadership of BSPHCDB, the State Team, and development partners.

“Your active and constructive engagement is helping us achieve measurable progress,” he said.
Paradigm News reports that the validation of the ZDLH Immunization Scorecard also took place across other implementing states, including Kano, Borno, and Sokoto.
