Muslims have been charged to redouble their efforts in the first 10 days of Zulhijja and assist the less privileged in the society.
The former commissioner for religious affairs Zamfara State, Sheik Dr Muhammad Tukur Sani Jangebe gave charge while answering questions from newsmen.

He said the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are the most virtuous days of the year, in which Allah (swt) has blessed his Ummah with opportunities’ to multiply their rewards.
“These days are so sacred that Allah swears an oath by them:’By the dawn; by the ten nights’ as stated in the Holly Qur’an, Chapter 89: Verses 1-2.”
According to him, In the Islamic calendar, Dhul Hijjah marks the final month of the year, It is a month where Muslims show gratitude and most blessed by Allah (SWT).
He added that, Muslims around the world increase in worship towards Allah (SWT), and also prepare for two important events: Hajj, the fifth pillar of Islam, and Eid al-Adha, the “festival of sacrifice”.
Dr Jangebe who also served as the state’s commissioner for religious affairs for three terms urged Muslims Ummah to fast within the first ten days and to ensure that they observed fasting on the Arafat day to seek for Allah’s blessing
He also called on Muslims to sacrifice Rams as instructed by Allah SWT and to intensify prayers for peace and stability in Zamfara State and the country in general.
