The Katsina Football Academy has achieved a historic milestone as five of its standout youngsters have officially signed professional contracts with Katsina United Football Club.

This marks the first time in the academy’s history that such a large number of players will be promoted to the senior team at once, highlighting its rising reputation as a hub for nurturing homegrown football talent in Katsina State.

The promoted players include Yusuf Umar (17), Nasir Ahmad (17), Hassan Abubakar (19), Kabir Muhammad Muhammad (17), and Usman Abdullahi (18), all of whom are indigenes of the state.

Speaking on the development, Katsina United’s Sporting Director, Shamsuddeen Ibrahim, described the promotion as a dream come true for both the players and the football community in Katsina.

“This is a dream realized, not only for the players but for the entire football family in Katsina. It shows that our investment in youth football is beginning to yield results,” he said.

The breakthrough aligns with Katsina State’s broader investment in youth and sports development under the leadership of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, whose administration has prioritized creating opportunities for young athletes to flourish and compete at the highest level.

Currently competing in the Nigerian Premier League, Katsina United is expected to benefit from the energy and potential of the new signings as the club continues to build a stronger squad for the future.
