Nigeria’s Ambassador to China, Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Abdulrahman Dambazau, has intensified efforts to deepen economic and industrial cooperation between Nigeria and China through a strategic engagement with SINOMA International Engineering Co., Ltd. in Beijing.
The visit, undertaken at the invitation of the company, forms part of Ambassador Dambazau’s ongoing economic diplomacy initiatives aimed at attracting investment, promoting technology transfer, and strengthening bilateral relations between both countries.
During the visit, the ambassador toured SINOMA’s state-of-the-art exhibition centre before holding high-level discussions with the company’s management on expanding collaboration in key sectors critical to Nigeria’s economic transformation.
The discussions highlighted SINOMA’s longstanding presence in Nigeria since 2008 and its contributions to the country’s industrial development through major projects with Dangote Cement, BUA Group and Mangal Cement. The company has also participated in the Dangote Refinery project, power generation initiatives and lithium mining development.
Both parties explored opportunities to expand cooperation in renewable energy, particularly solar and wind power, as Nigeria seeks to diversify its energy sources and promote sustainable development.
The meeting also examined prospects for strengthening research and development (R&D) partnerships between SINOMA and Nigerian universities and research institutions to enhance innovation, technology transfer and capacity building.
Ambassador Dambazau reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to providing an enabling environment for strategic investments that support industrialisation, infrastructure development, clean energy adoption and human capital development in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The engagement highlights Nigeria’s commitment to leveraging economic diplomacy to attract foreign investment, deepen industrial cooperation and build strategic partnerships capable of driving sustainable economic growth and long-term national development.
