The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Delta State Command, has decorated 116 newly promoted officers and personnel, urging them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and dedication in the fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
The colourful ceremony, held at the Command headquarters, marked a significant milestone in the careers of the beneficiaries and reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to rewarding excellence, discipline, and outstanding service.
The event attracted representatives of sister security agencies, key stakeholders, as well as family members, friends, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the officers’ achievements.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Delta State Commander, CN Halilu Hamidu, described the promotion as a recognition of dedication, discipline, professionalism, and commitment to duty rather than merely a reward for years of service.
He said the new ranks reflected the confidence the Agency had in the officers’ ability to take on greater responsibilities in advancing the NDLEA’s mandate of combating drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
The Commander urged the promoted officers to view their elevation as a call to higher service, stressing that increased responsibility comes with greater accountability. He charged them to remain committed to the core values of integrity, professionalism, and patriotism in the discharge of their duties.
Hamidu also commended the families of the officers for their unwavering support, noting that their sacrifices play a vital role in the success of the personnel. He further appreciated the collaboration of sister security agencies, describing inter-agency cooperation as essential in tackling drug-related crimes across Delta State.
