The Federal Government, through the Federal Ministry of Education and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), has convened a regional thematic workshop to strengthen supply chain management and tracking systems under the HOPE-EDU initiative.
The HOPE-EDU Result Area 1 Regional Thematic Workshop on Supply Chain and Track-and-Trace System brought together Directors and support officers of State Universal Basic Education Boards (SUBEBs) from the South-West and North-Central geopolitical zones.
The workshop, held under the leadership of the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, focused on practical strategies, accountability mechanisms and coordinated approaches for effective implementation of the programme.
Participants drawn from key departments, including Academic Services, Monitoring and Evaluation, Procurement, and Planning, Research and Statistics/EMIS, shared experiences and explored ways of improving programme implementation.
The workshop also provided an opportunity for participants to align their activities with the implementation requirements of Result Area 1 and translate the knowledge gained into actionable plans.
They were urged to fast-track outstanding processes, particularly the submission of prerequisite evidence ahead of the November 15, 2026 deadline.
The initiative is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to strengthen basic education and ensure improved literacy and numeracy outcomes, teaching quality and access to learning materials for Nigerian children.
The workshop reaffirmed the commitment of the Federal Ministry of Education and UBEC to achieving measurable improvements in basic education delivery through effective coordination, accountability and evidence-based implementation.
