The Kano State House of Assembly Service Commission has approved the establishment of a Works Department and confirmed the appointment and redeployment of three senior officers as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen administrative efficiency and improve service delivery within the legislative service.
The commission approved the appointments to fill vacant and newly created positions.

Those affected include Lawal Yusuf Sagagi, who was promoted from Assistant Director, Publication, to Acting Director, Information and Publication; Aminu Ahmad Yakubu, promoted from Assistant Director, Printing, to Acting Director, Works and Physical Planning; and Murtala Yusuf, redeployed from Chief Legislative Officer to Acting Director, Protocol, to sit in.
In a statement, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Falgore, described the promotions as routine administrative exercises.
He said the affected officers had served the required periods and met the necessary conditions for advancement.
Falgore congratulated the officers on their new responsibilities and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by the commission through greater dedication and professionalism.
The newly appointed officers expressed appreciation to the Speaker for his commitment to strengthening the workforce and improving legislative efficiency.
They pledged to continue discharging their responsibilities diligently in support of effective legislative services.

Falgore also disclosed that further measures were being taken to create a more conducive working environment and provide additional benefits for legislative staff.
