The President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku, has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, as part of preparations for the forthcoming World Public Relations Forum, which Nigeria will host on behalf of Africa from November 15 to 21, 2026.
Dr. Neliaku paid a courtesy visit to Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Kenya, Ambassador Danlami Ibrahim, where he briefed the mission on the planned forum and Nigeria’s role in hosting the global public relations gathering.
He also held a fruitful engagement with the President of the World Association of Press Councils, Chairperson of the East Africa Press Councils and Chief Executive Officer of the Media Council of Kenya, Mr. David Omwoyo Omwoyo, MBS.
Mr. Omwoyo pledged the full participation of the Media Council of Kenya in the November forum and expressed his intention to attend with Chairpersons and Chief Executive Officers of Press Councils from selected countries.
The engagements are expected to strengthen regional and international participation in the forum and further position Nigeria as a key player in advancing professional public relations and media practice in Africa.
Dr. Neliaku was accompanied by Mr. Peter Mutie, Member of the Global Alliance Board, and Mr. Stanley Ogadigo, fnipr, Director of Public Relations at NIPR.
