The Nigerian Association for Physical, Health Education, Recreation, Sports and Dance, NAPHER-SD, has re-elected Professor Florence Bola Adeyanju as its National President for a second term.
The election was conducted during the association’s 54th Annual Conference and Elective General Meeting held at the Centre for Excellence, Bayero University Kano, BUK.

Also re-elected are the immediate past Secretary-General of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, Dr Sanusi Muhammad, as First Vice President; Mr Godspower Odedede, Second Vice President; and Mr Igba Emmanuel as Secretary.
Other members of the new executive include Dr Sylvester Ikuojemoye, Assistant Secretary; Dr Joy Maiyaki, Financial Secretary; Professor Fraze Atare, Treasurer; and Dr Ajibola Gbenga Samson, Public Relations Officer.
Dr Musa H. Darma was elected Publication Secretary, while Dr Chijoke Okechukwu emerged as Auditor.
The position of Ex-Officio One went to the Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Nigerian University Games Association, NUGA, and former Chairman of the Sports Committee of Bayero University Kano, Professor Musa Garba Yakasai.
The five-day conference and workshop attracted a large turnout of members, Vice Chancellors, researchers and observers from different parts of the country.

The event was declared open by the Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano, Professor Haruna Musa, represented by Dr Abubakar Ibrahim Hassan.
The theme of this year’s conference is: “Transparency, Integrity and Accountability in Sports, Health and Education.”
Various papers were presented during the conference, focusing on issues relating to sports, health and education.
Speaking shortly after her re-election, the NAPHER-SD President, Professor Florence Bola Adeyanju, expressed appreciation to members of the association for their confidence in her leadership.
She pledged to continue working towards the growth and development of the association and the promotion of physical and health education, recreation, sports and dance across the country.

Also speaking, the Ex-Officio One and Chairman of the Technical Committee of NUGA, Professor Musa Garba Yakasai, described the large turnout of members at the conference as encouraging.
Professor Yakasai commended the Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano, Professor Haruna Musa, for his support to the association throughout the five-day conference.
