Former members of the 2023 Health Transition Committee have endorsed the Kano First Agenda of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, reaffirming their support for policies aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery and humanitarian services in Kano State.
The endorsement was made during the 2026 Iftar gathering held on Friday, March 6, at the AMG Foundation Building. The event brought together former members of the committee under the auspices of the Kano State Healthcare Forum.
The forum, chaired by Aminu Magashi Garba, organised the gathering for the third consecutive year, providing a platform for members to reflect on developments in the health sector and renew their commitment to improving the wellbeing of residents of the state.
Participants at the meeting collectively reaffirmed their support for the Kano First Agenda, noting that the initiative aligns with efforts to strengthen health and humanitarian interventions across the state.
The gathering also served as an opportunity for stakeholders to deliberate on strategies for advancing policies and programmes that will further improve healthcare services in Kano.
The forum further resolved to commemorate the upcoming World Health Day in April by highlighting achievements recorded in the health and humanitarian sectors in the state.
As part of the planned activities, the group said it intends to empower 50 youth health graduates with essential drugs to support patent medicine store businesses, with the aim of promoting economic empowerment and expanding access to basic healthcare services at the community level.
