Kaduna State University (KASU) has received the reviewed salary structure and welfare documents for its non-academic staff following the presentation of the renegotiated agreement between the Federal Government and the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Non-Teaching Staff Unions.
The documents, presented on Thursday, contain the reviewed salary structure, renegotiated conditions of service, and the signed agreement on staff allowances and welfare. The agreement includes the Federal Government’s approval of a 35 per cent increase in welfare packages and allowances for non-teaching staff.
Receiving the documents, the Vice-Chancellor of KASU, Professor Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, welcomed the development and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to implementing the reviewed provisions.
To facilitate the implementation process, the Vice-Chancellor directed the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Mohammed Bashir Ali, and the Registrar, Barrister Samira Balarabe, to constitute a committee that will oversee the implementation of the reviewed working document across the university.
Speaking during the presentation, the Chairperson of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), KASU Branch, Nina Ochijbo, accompanied by the Branch Secretary, Dahiru Musa, Branch Treasurer, Salisu Bala, and National Executive Committee Member, Musa Josiah Kalla, commended the university management for its continued support.
The union leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to promoting the welfare of non-teaching staff through constructive engagement and sustained collaboration with the university administration.
