The National Library of Nigeria has activated its newly subscribed Taylor & Francis database as part of efforts to enhance access to digital research resources and strengthen the capacity of its workforce.
The database was officially activated on Thursday during a training session for staff, coordinated by Havilah Merchants Limited.
The training was facilitated by Ms. Anjuli Gupta, who provided participants with practical guidance on the effective use of the Taylor & Francis platform. She demonstrated how to navigate the database using the Google Chrome web browser to access a wide range of electronic journals and e-books.
The initiative forms part of the National Library’s ongoing commitment to improving the digital competencies of its staff while expanding access to quality electronic information resources for researchers, library users, and the general public.
Speaking at the session, the National Librarian and Chief Executive Officer, Professor Chinwe Veronica Anunobi, commended Ms. Gupta for her insightful presentation and practical demonstration.
Professor Anunobi also requested that Havilah Merchants Limited provide the National Library with a comprehensive step-by-step user guide to support staff in effectively applying the knowledge acquired during the training and maximizing the use of the Taylor & Francis database in their daily operations.
She reaffirmed the Library’s commitment to leveraging digital technologies to improve information services and support research, learning, and knowledge dissemination across the country.
