The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has commenced a four-week Basic Investigation and Enforcement Training for 102 newly recruited officers of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
The training began on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the EFCC Academy, Karu, Abuja, with a focus on strengthening the investigative capacity, professionalism, discipline and ethical conduct of the new officers.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Ola Olukoyede, described the programme as a significant milestone in the relationship between the two institutions.
Olukoyede, who was represented by the Acting Commandant of the EFCC Academy, Assistant Commander of EFCC, ACE1 Joseph Ogwiji, noted that it was the first time the EFCC would host and train newly recruited officers of the CCB.
He said the partnership went beyond a training arrangement, describing it as a new chapter in institutional collaboration and capacity development between the two agencies.
According to him, strengthening the skills and professional capacity of personnel involved in investigation and enforcement was essential to improving the fight against corruption and promoting accountability in public service.
The Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Dr Abdullahi Usman Bello, said the partnership between the two institutions remained critical to the Federal Government’s efforts to promote integrity and ethical conduct in public service.
Bello urged the trainees to approach the training with the seriousness it deserves, noting that it would prepare them to effectively discharge the constitutional mandate of the Bureau.
He said the mandate includes promoting transparency, preventing conflicts of interest and contributing to the development of a public service that Nigerians can trust.
The trainees were also charged to uphold integrity, discipline, professionalism and confidentiality, while ensuring strict adherence to the law in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The four-week programme is expected to equip the newly recruited CCB officers with the knowledge and practical skills required to effectively perform their investigative and enforcement duties.
