Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has visited Best Choice Specialist Hospital in Kano to assess healthcare delivery and commend medical personnel for their commitment to saving lives.
Governor Yusuf made the visit on Friday night as part of his routine inspection of healthcare facilities across the state, aimed at monitoring service delivery and assessing how patients are attended to, particularly during night hours.
During the inspection, the governor toured various sections of the hospital and interacted with patients receiving treatment. He was accompanied by the doctor on duty and other members of staff.
Governor Yusuf observed the activities of health workers and assessed the quality of attention being given to patients at the time of his visit.
He commended the management and staff of Best Choice Specialist Hospital for their dedication to providing healthcare services to residents of Kano State.
The governor also acknowledged the contribution of private healthcare providers to the state’s health sector, stressing the need for continued collaboration between government and private medical institutions to improve access to quality healthcare.
According to members of the governor’s entourage, the visit underscored the administration’s commitment to monitoring healthcare delivery beyond government-owned facilities and recognising private institutions that complement public-sector efforts.
As a gesture of appreciation, Governor Yusuf presented a special award to the hospital staff in recognition of their dedication and service.
Best Choice Specialist Hospital, located at Tal’udu Junction, opposite Sheikh Al Rayyan School in Kano, operates round the clock and provides medical services through qualified doctors and other healthcare professionals across various departments.
The governor’s inspection is part of his administration’s broader effort to strengthen healthcare delivery and ensure that residents receive appropriate medical attention in both public and private health facilities across the state’s 44 local government areas.
