The Director-General of the National Agricultural Seeds Council, NASC, Hon. Fatuhu Muhammed, is participating in the Africa Food Systems Forum, AFS 2026, taking place in Kigali, Rwanda, from August 31 to September 4, 2026.
Muhammed is attending the high-level forum alongside the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, the Governor of Jigawa State and other key stakeholders from across Africa.
Themed “Investing in Agri-Food Systems: Nourishing Nations, Growing Jobs, Building Resilience,” the forum brings together policymakers, agricultural experts, development partners, investors and private-sector leaders to discuss practical strategies for transforming Africa’s food systems.
The participation of the NASC leadership highlights Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening its national seed system, expanding access to quality seeds and promoting sustainable agricultural development and food security.
The forum also provides an opportunity for Nigeria to share experiences, strengthen strategic partnerships and explore investment opportunities capable of contributing to a more productive, resilient and sustainable agricultural sector.
Through its participation, the NASC is expected to further engage stakeholders on the importance of quality seeds in improving agricultural productivity, strengthening farmers’ resilience and supporting Nigeria’s broader food security agenda.
