The AMG Foundation team led by its Chairman, Dr Aminu Magashi Garba had paid an advocacy call to the Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Sani.
Dr. Magashi commended the Commissioner for her dedication and efforts since the Ministry’s inception and committed to support the new ministry with the following in the inception phase of the partnership:
1. Support the Ministry to convene a one-day stakeholders forum on a proposed Kano State Humanitarian Agenda
3. Support a 2-day working visit to Abuja to explore partnership with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation and the United Nations Office of the Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator
4. Support the development of the 2025 Annual Operational Plan and 5 Year Strategic Plan on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
5 Support the development of the Kano State Humanitarian Investment Trust Fund.
5. Support the establishment of the Kano State Inter-Ministerial Coordination Committee on Humanitarian Response.
In her opening remarks, the Commissioner welcomed the entourage and expressed her appreciation for the visit.
She highlighted the present administration’s passion for supporting vulnerable populations, including the less privileged and disabled, which led to the establishment of the Ministry.
She assured the foundation of her commitment to collaboration, aiming to elevate the Ministry’s impact on the entire people of Kano State.
In her closing remark, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hajiya Amina Yusuf ‘Yargaya, thanked AMG Foundation and expressed confidence in the Commissioner’s leadership, and the commitment of all the staff to ensure the achievement of the objectives of the Ministry.
