The public has been advised to get vaccinated against the human papillomavirus HPV to eliminate cervical cancer. The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission, KANSIEC, has slashed the fee for nomination forms for chairmanship and councillorship positions in the upcoming Local Government election in the state. The Chairman of the state’s electoral umpire, Professor Sani Lawan Malumfashi announced that the nomination fee for Chairmanship and Councillorship is now N9 million and N4 million respectively. Floods and windstorms have claimed 49 lives and destroyed 226 communities, in Kano State. The Executive Secretary, Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Isiyaku Abdullahi Kubarachi made the disclosure while briefing newsmen in the state capital. Kubarachi said the disaster has affected 226 communities across 27 local government areas, with 6,583 houses destroyed and 38,814 persons affected. In line with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021 provisions of transiting assets from the Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) into PIA terms, the NNPC Ltd and its Joint Venture (JV) partner, Chevron Nigeria Ltd (CNL), have concluded the conversion of five of its JV assets into the PIA terms.
