The Kano State Government KNSG has suspended its end-of-month environmental sanitation exercise for March 2025 to allow residents to focus on Sallah preparations.
According to the Kano state commissioner of environment and climate change Dr. Dahiru Mohammad Hashim, this decision acknowledges the state’s role as a commercial hub for northern states and the influx of people from neighboring states during this season.

He however explained that, the sanitation exercise for government ministries, departments, agencies, motor parks, and market places will still take place.

Dr Hashim, emphasizes the ministry’s commitment to maintaining a clean environment while respecting cultural and religious celebrations.

“The end-of-month sanitation exercise will resume in April 2025, and residents are encouraged to continue practicing good hygiene and sanitation habits during the suspension period and after”
