Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare and inclusion of persons with special needs.
Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, made the declaration while receiving the leadership of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disability in his office.

He emphasized that disability should not be a cause for despair, but rather a source of motivation for self-reliance and personal development.
Comrade Waiya highlighted the unique talents of persons with special needs, which can contribute significantly to the development of Kano State.

He assured the Joint National Association of Persons with Disability of his dedication to ensuring their inclusion in government support and empowerment programs.

The Commissioner also pledged to collaborate with the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children and the Disabled to ensure individuals with disabilities benefit from developmental initiatives.

The Chairman of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disability, Muhammad Musa Shaga, called for the establishment of a state Commission for persons with Disabilities to oversee their welfare.
He expressed confidence in Governor Yusuf’s administration to continue championing their welfare.
