The governor of kebbi state, Nasir Idris says there’s the need for more collaboration between the federal and state governments in delivering dividends of democracy to the citizens.
In a chat with newsmen in Abuja, Idris said the complimentary role of the two tiers of government would equally set the pace for the local government councils.
He said instances of locating projects, distribution of social services as well as educating citizens on the programs and policies would be better achieved through these collaborations.
” Governors and local government chairmen have direct links with the people. we know their needs and challenged because we are closer to them than the federal government”

He said that with the structure on ground in states,the federal government would easily reach every nook and cranny of the federation to deliver dividend of democracy with assurance of meeting identified targets.
The governor decried a situation where states were left out of decision making about policies and programs that impact on people at the grassroots.
“I discovered a federal road project in my state which, as a governor and an APC member for that matter,i was not aware of”
He said apart from the progressive governors ,all the local government chairmen and councillors should be carried along in policies and programs of the federal government for the benefit of the people.
