Abuja, January 8, 2026 — The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Udeh, SAN, has reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to deepening legislative collaboration to accelerate Nigeria’s Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) agenda.
The Minister, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Philip Ndiomu, paid an official familiarization visit to the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology, Distinguished Senator Aminu Iya Abbas.
In his remarks, Dr. Udeh expressed profound appreciation for the visionary leadership, guidance, and unwavering support of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, whose strategic direction continues to enhance the effective delivery of the Ministry’s mandate.
He also commended the sustained cooperation and constructive engagement of critical stakeholders, particularly the Senate Committee on Science and Technology, noting that their consistent support underscores the importance of the visit.
The Minister assured the Committee of his firm resolve to build a responsive, result-oriented Science, Technology and Innovation sector capable of driving national development.
He emphasized the need to further strengthen synergy between the Ministry and the National Assembly as a strategic necessity for economic diversification, sustainable growth, and positioning Nigeria among globally competitive nations.
In his response, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology, Distinguished Senator Aminu Iya Abbas, welcomed the Minister and reaffirmed the Committee’s full legislative support.
He assured the Ministry of prompt consideration and passage of bills relating to the Ministry and its agencies.
The Senator expressed confidence in the Minister’s capacity to effectively deliver on the Ministry’s mandate in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stating his optimism for tangible outcomes under the Minister’s leadership.
