The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has declared Indomie Vegetable Flavour noodles unsafe for consumption and ordered an immediate nationwide recall.
In a public alert issued on Friday, NAFDAC said the recall follows an alert from France’s consumer safety authority, Rappel Conso, which identified undeclared allergens specifically milk and eggs in the product.
According to the agency, these allergens were not listed on the product label, posing serious health risks to people with allergies or intolerances.
The recall affects all batches with a best-before date of February 6, 2026.
Although the risk of the product entering Nigeria is considered low due to the ban on noodle importation, NAFDAC warned that illegal imports through personal travel or online purchases may still occur.
NAFDAC has directed its zonal directors and state coordinators to intensify surveillance and seize any recalled products found in markets, warehouses, or distribution outlets.
Consumers have been advised not to consume the affected noodles and to discard them immediately. Members of the public are urged to report any sightings or adverse reactions to the nearest NAFDAC office or via the agency’s toll-free line.
