    In Nigeria’s dynamic political landscape, Abba Kabir Yusuf (AKY) stands out as a transformative leader.

    AKY’s dedication and commitment to public service have profoundly impacted Kano State, cementing a legacy that will inspire future generations.

    As a proactive leader, AKY exemplifies key qualities: clear vision, strategic planning, and unwavering implementation, coupled with courage, integrity, focus, perseverance, and humility.

    This write-up aims for balance, acknowledging Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s proactive decisions that have earned genuine admiration across party lines.

    While some supporters excessively praise him, overlooking flaws, this piece recognises his positive impact.

    Notably, constructive criticism on matters needing urgent attention is met with unwarranted insults and threats from the governor’s supporters, whereas the governor has shown responsiveness to act on valid feedback.

    Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf stands out for his ability to cut through flattery and focus on reality, undeterred by sycophants.

    He has consistently demonstrated a people-oriented approach, embracing criticism as an opportunity to assess and improve his administration.

    His openness to engaging with social media critici but listening to diverse perspectives, and acting on constructive feedback sets him apart as a leader, marking a significant departure from the norm in the state’s history.

    A social media critic of Governor Abba K. Yusuf’s administration shared a remarkable experience, revealing that despite their differing political views, AKY privately engaged with him to discuss concerns about state sectors.

    Following their conversation, the Governor promptly addressed the issues raised, showcasing his commitment to progress over politics and demonstrating a willingness to listen and act beyond partisan lines.

    Following Dan Bello’s viral video exposi on the poor state of Day Science Secondary School and Government Technical College. Governor Abba K. Yusuf took swift and proactive action, making an unscheduled visit to the schools to assess the situation and verify claims.

    Through a thorough inspection, he validated the concerns raised, showcasing his commitment to addressing issues and driving improvement.

    During a surprise visit to a Ramadan feedincentreer in Gwale or Municipal, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was dismayed to find substandard food being served. His emotional reaction, ‘Manya Cin Amana kanana Cin Amana’ (‘Big people breach the trust and small people do the same’), underscored the seriousness of the issue and the need for accountability.”

    As Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf is driving infrastructural development in the state, with notable renovations of major township roads.

    He has proven himself to be a people-oriented leader, leading by example and ensuring his cabinet members align with his vision. As the saying goes, ‘A single tree cannot make a forest,’ highlighting the importance of teamwork.

    Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s workaholic approach is evident in his unannounced project inspections, holding his appointees to high standards and expectations.

    Abba Kabir Yusuf’s proactive leadership is marked by a clear vision, goal-oriented approach, and prompt action to address challenges. His flexibility and adaptability enable effective navigation of changing circumstances.

    To propel further success, there is need for inspiring his team towards a unified objective will be essential, fostering a collaborative environment that drives progress and achievement.

    For those blind supporters, it’s essential trecogniseze that AKY’s leadership is guided by well-oriented policies. However, even with such policies, there can be blind spots that require improvement.

    By listening to criticism, AKY make informed decisions, adapt to changing circumstances, and ultimately become a more effective leader.

    It’s puzzling that some supporters, as they call themselves, fail to understand that effective leadership involves embracing constructive criticism, fostering a culture of transparency, and promoting accountability.

    By accepting criticism, leaders can gain valuable insights, new perspectives, and identify areas for improvement and growth.

    Unknown to these blind supporters, AKY’s acceptance of criticism showcases his humility, self-awareness, and commitment to excellence, ultimately fostering trust, open communication, and better decision-making.”
