The Kano chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN organized a one-day workshop for Kano journalists on the role of reporting sporting activities.
The one-day workshop was held at the Kano State Sports Commission.
The General Manager of Kano Pillars FC, Abba Galadima, emphasized the importance of factual reporting by sports journalists.
The SWAN National President Benjamin Isaiah, represented by the SWAN National ex–officio, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa, explained that sports journalism should be accurate and factual.
A lecturer at Khalifa Isyka Rabiu University Kano, KHAIRUN, Dr. Yusuf Datti presented a paper titled “Understanding tennis rules, surfaces and match technics.
A sports veteran Abdulgafar Oladimeji, urged journalists to be mindful of the sports sector, and focus on the investigation of sports activities.
The workshop witnessed large turn out of sports presenters in Kano, who commended SWAN leadership under Zahradden Saleh for organizing the workshop.
