The Minister of State for Works, Muhammad Bello Goronyo, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his steadfast commitment to infrastructural development across Nigeria, despite the current economic challenges facing the nation.
Goronyo made the commendation on Friday during an inspection of ongoing road projects in Kebbi and Sokoto States, alongside the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi.
Umahi Commends Kebbi on Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway Project
He described the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway as one of the most ambitious projects under the Tinubu administration, noting that it will stimulate massive economic growth and business opportunities along its corridor.
“The superhighway is not just for Sokoto, Kebbi, or Niger States. It is for the entire country, as it cuts across different regions before reaching Badagry in Lagos,” Goronyo said.
The 1,000-kilometer road, which begins at the Illela International Market in Sokoto, is designed to link Nigeria to neighboring countries, including Niger and Mali.
According to the minister, this will position the highway as a “game changer” for trade, cross-border relations, and regional integration.
“This project is going to open up a lot of business opportunities along this corridor,” he emphasized, while urging host communities to support and safeguard the project.

Goronyo further appealed to residents of the benefiting states to recognize President Tinubu’s efforts, stressing that the project itself speaks louder than political campaigns.
“We are not coming back here to campaign. Once this project is completed, we won’t need to return for campaign purposes, because Mr. President has already demonstrated his love and concern for his people,” he said.
The minister also commended Engr. Dave Umahi for his relentless dedication to the success of the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, especially in the area of road infrastructure.
