The management of the University of Offa (UNIOFFA) has received the leadership of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Offa Area Council, on a familiarisation visit aimed at strengthening collaboration and promoting student welfare.
The visit,saw the MSSN delegation led by its Amir, Moronkeji Gasali S., alongside members including Oyetunde Taofeeq, Afolabi Saheed O., Adisa Kazeem Olakunle, Ajibola Abdulwaheed Yusuf, and Abdulganiyu Ja’far.
Speaking during the engagement, Gasali said the visit was intended to build a cordial relationship between the society and the university community, particularly in supporting Muslim students on campus.
“We came for a familiarisation visit. There are Muslim students in the institution, and we are here to support and cater for their welfare. We also want to create a good rapport between the MSSN and the school leadership. On this, we will build subsequent relationships,” he said.
The university delegation was led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kazeem Alagbe Gbolagade, alongside the Registrar, Mr. Salaudeen Ajibola Oyewale, as well as deans and directors of the institution.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor welcomed the delegation and commended MSSN for its structured approach to student engagement. He emphasized that the university places high importance on moral development in addition to academic excellence.
He noted that responsible student organisations such as MSSN play a critical role in fostering discipline, unity, and mutual respect within the campus community.
Professor Gbolagade assured the delegation of the institution’s continued support for initiatives that positively impact students’ welfare and overall development.
Speaking on behalf of the University Senate, Governing Council, and the Founder and Proprietor, Dr. (Chief) Rasaq Omoniyi Oyewale, he praised the group’s commitment to peaceful coexistence and student wellbeing, urging sustained collaboration with the university management.
He reiterated the institution’s openness to constructive partnerships that align with its rules and regulations.
Also speaking, the Registrar, Mr. Salaudeen Ajibola Oyewale, expressed appreciation to the MSSN team for the visit, describing it as a commendable step toward strengthening engagement with the university.
The management reaffirmed its commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports the holistic development of all students while encouraging collaboration with recognised student bodies.
