The Environmental Health Council of Nigeria (EHCON) has expressed its readiness to partner with Doxxie Global Solutions Limited on an innovative national environmental-health intelligence initiative aimed at mapping dumpsites, detecting emissions and identifying environmental risks across the country.
The Registrar of the Council, Dr. Muhammad Baba, who was represented by the Deputy Registrar II, Muhammad Aminu, described the initiative as timely and capable of contributing significantly to environmental health management in Nigeria.
He stated this on Thursday, August 20, 2026, while responding to a presentation by representatives of Doxxie Global Solutions Limited to the top management of the Council at its Conference Room.
According to him, the proposed initiative comes at a critical time when Nigeria’s environmental challenges require innovative, data-driven and coordinated approaches.
He reaffirmed EHCON’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote environmental protection and strengthen environmental health across the country.
Dr. Baba noted that, if effectively implemented, the project would generate valuable environmental intelligence to help relevant authorities understand the nature, location and potential risks associated with dumpsites and emissions.
He further stressed that strengthening environmental health intelligence would improve the capacity of relevant institutions to take preventive action rather than relying solely on responses after environmental hazards have occurred.
“The Council will continue to explore strategic partnerships and innovative solutions capable of advancing environmental health practice and strengthening Nigeria’s capacity,” he said.
