The Managing Director of the Sokoto-Rima River Basin Development Authority (SRRBDA), Alhaji Abubakar Malam, has commended the leadership qualities and people-oriented administration of Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris.

Malam made the commendation when he received the Kebbi State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, and members of the Governor’s media team during a visit to his office.
He described Governor Idris as a visionary, charismatic and team-oriented leader who, since assuming office, had demonstrated a strong commitment to improving the welfare of the people through people-centred governance.
According to him, the administration has recorded significant achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, security and workers’ welfare.
Malam said the state government had improved road networks, recruited thousands of health workers and teachers, supported farmers with agricultural inputs and irrigation facilities, strengthened security and implemented the N75,000 minimum wage.
He added that the administration had also introduced various empowerment programmes targeting women, youths and vulnerable members of society.
The SRRBDA Managing Director described Governor Idris as “a leader with vision” and a charismatic leader whose life was centred on helping people.

He said the Governor had demonstrated the qualities of an honest, transparent and principled leader who remained committed to doing what was right, even when there was no public recognition.
Malam further described Governor Idris as a team leader who inspires people to work towards common goals while promoting accountability in governance.
He said the achievements recorded across Kebbi State provided a strong basis for continuity and urged residents to support Governor Idris for a second term.
The SRRBDA boss also described the Governor as a “man of the people,” noting that he valued relationships and remained connected to the people.
He attributed the cordial relationship among past and present political leaders in Kebbi State to Governor Idris’ humility and accommodating disposition, saying the atmosphere had contributed to political stability in the state.
Malam also commended the Commissioner for Information and Culture and members of the Governor’s media team for their efforts in communicating government policies, programmes and achievements to the public.

He described the media team as “the bridge between government and the people,” urging its members to accurately document government achievements, explain policies and counter misinformation with verifiable facts.
He also encouraged the team to continue highlighting how government programmes and interventions were impacting positively on the livelihoods of citizens.
