The Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, Alhaji Muhammad Tukur Babangida, is expected to lead other top government officials on Monday in inspecting facilities ahead of the 45th edition of the Annual Public Service Games scheduled to take place in Kano from October 6th to 16th, 2026.

More than 8,000 participants from 80 federal government agencies across the country and the Federal Capital Territory are expected to converge on Kano for the championship.
Kano State Government secured the hosting rights for the games as part of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s commitment to strengthening the cordial relationship between the government and public servants, while promoting their health and well-being through sports.

Speaking on preparations for the event, the Chairman of the Sports Commission, Alhaji Muhammad Tukur Babangida, said the inspection of the venues was part of the commission’s efforts to ensure a successful and hitch-free championship.
He commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his commitment and support towards the development of sports in the state.
Alhaji Babangida assured that all stakeholders would work together to ensure the successful hosting of the games and further project the good image of Kano State during the championship.

He said the commission was working closely with the Office of the State Head of Service to achieve the objectives of hosting the games.
The Chairman expressed confidence that the necessary preparations would be completed before the commencement of the championship.
