The Acting Provost of Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies, AKCILS, Dr Ali Tamasi Mu’az, has honoured a security officer of the institution, Malam Murtala Idris, for dedication, integrity and outstanding performance.
The recognition was presented during a ceremony held at the College and attended by members of the Management, staff and the security corps.

Presenting the award, Dr Mu’az said the gesture was in line with the Kano State Government’s policy of recognising diligence, integrity and commitment as a means of motivating personnel towards greater productivity.
He commended Malam Murtala Idris for his industry, honesty and professionalism, describing him as an energetic and dependable officer who has consistently demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility in the discharge of his duties.
The Acting Provost recalled his experience while serving as Director of Security Services of the College, saying he had observed the award recipient maintaining vigilance at his duty post throughout the night.

Dr Mu’az described Malam Murtala as one of the College’s outstanding security officers and urged other members of staff to emulate his discipline, sincerity and commitment to duty.
He also commended the entire security personnel for their sacrifices in safeguarding lives and property, while calling on staff to cooperate with the Security Directorate to enhance effective service delivery.
The Acting Provost said the College Management would continue to recognise and reward dedicated, honest and hardworking personnel.

In recognition of his meritorious service, the Management approved the elevation of Malam Murtala Idris from Senior Headshift to Chief Headshift, alongside a cash award of fifty thousand naira and a Letter of Commendation.
The Director of Security, Malam Farouk Muhammad, said the awardee had served the College meritoriously for 22 years without any adverse record, describing him as patient, disciplined and committed to his responsibilities.
