The All Progressives Congress (APC), Kebbi State Chapter, has condemned the recent political violence in Jega Local Government Area and called for a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident.

The party’s Publicity Secretary, Isah Assalafi, made the call at a press briefing held at the APC Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
Assalafi said the party had taken note of the recent violence and unrest in parts of Jega, describing the development as serious and one that requires prompt investigation to establish the facts.
He said Jega had a long history of active political participation and remained an important community in Kebbi State, stressing that the actions of a minority should not create a negative impression of the entire community.
The APC spokesperson urged security agencies to investigate the incident and ensure that anyone found responsible faces the appropriate legal consequences.

He maintained that political differences should not be regarded as a licence for criminality, adding that no political objective could justify the destruction of lives, property or public peace.
Assalafi also cautioned political actors, supporters and other stakeholders against inflammatory statements, deliberate misinformation and actions capable of escalating tensions in Jega and other parts of the state.
He said the APC-led administration of Governor Nasir Idris remained focused on implementing development programmes and projects aimed at improving the welfare of residents and sustaining peace and stability across Kebbi.
According to him, security remains fundamental to achieving the administration’s development objectives.

The party commended security agencies, traditional institutions, community leaders and residents for their efforts in restoring peace and stability in the affected community.
The APC further called for a transparent investigation into the incident to establish the facts and ensure that justice is served.
