The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kano State has decorated 261 newly promoted personnel with their new ranks across the 44 Local Government Areas of the state.

The Sector Commander of the Corps, Idris Lawal, disclosed this during the decoration ceremony held on Thursday in Kano.
Lawal, who was represented by the Deputy Corps Commander, Mohammed Bello Yakubu, said the personnel were among those who successfully passed the Corps’ latest promotion examination.
He said the promotion covered officers and marshals across various cadres, including five senior officers promoted from the rank of Chief Route Commander to Assistant Corps Commander.

“Out of the 261 personnel, 196 were also promoted from Road Marshal Assistant to Chief Inspector,” he said.
According to him, the promotions were part of the FRSC’s efforts to recognise and reward commitment, dedication and hard work among its personnel.
Lawal urged the newly promoted officers to reciprocate the gesture by improving service delivery and demonstrating greater commitment to road safety and the protection of lives.
He noted that promotion comes with greater responsibility, stressing the need for the personnel to maintain a high level of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

The Sector Commander further advised the officers to regard their new ranks as a call to greater responsibility and commitment to the mandate of the Corps.
He also urged them to remain calm when dealing with challenging situations, advising them not to give in to anger but to manage difficult circumstances with patience and composure.
