The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has called on media professionals to support the vision of the Nigeria Police Force in strengthening security across the country.
Disu made the appeal during a visit to the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, located in Utako, Abuja.
The IGP assured that the Nigeria Police Force under his leadership would continue to prioritise the protection of lives and property nationwide.
He also urged journalists to maintain cordial relationships with other professional bodies and adhere strictly to the ethics of journalism while carrying out their duties.
Earlier, the Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, Grace Ike, described the police chief as a committed and well-trained officer who has made significant contributions to the force over the years.
Ike congratulated Disu on his appointment and pledged the support of NUJ members at both the national and council levels to ensure his success in office.
