The Acting Provost of Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies (AKCILS), Dr. Ali Tamasi , has reassured students enrolled in the institution’s Degree programmes that they will complete their studies and graduate without any disruption, despite recent developments affecting admissions into such programmes.
Dr. Tamasi gave the assurance while receiving separate courtesy visits from members of the Tijjaniyya Shura Media Group, Kano State, the Committee of Ulama and Traditional Rulers, and alumni of the Hausa/Islamic Studies Class of 2014/2015.
Addressing the visitors, the Acting Provost clarified that the recent decision by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) does not affect students already admitted into the College’s Degree programmes. He stressed that all existing students would be allowed to complete their academic pursuits and obtain their degrees as scheduled.
He expressed appreciation to the visiting groups for their solidarity, support and goodwill towards the institution, reaffirming the College Management’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with stakeholders and supporting initiatives that promote educational development.
Dr. Tamasi also commended the Kano State Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Tijjani Sani Auwal, for his efforts in promoting peaceful coexistence, religious harmony and unity among diverse communities across the state.
The Acting Provost called on members of the Committee of Ulama and Traditional Rulers to intensify public enlightenment efforts on the policies and programmes of the Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. According to him, increased awareness would enable citizens to better appreciate government achievements and developmental initiatives.
He further appealed to the visiting groups to assist in showcasing the College’s achievements and newly introduced academic programmes, particularly in Science, Special Education and Adult Education. He encouraged them to actively engage with and disseminate information published on the institution’s official social media platforms.
In separate remarks, leaders of the visiting groups congratulated Dr. Tamasi on his appointment as Acting Provost, describing him as a capable and dedicated administrator with the vision and capacity to advance the College’s growth and development. They pledged their continued support, cooperation and prayers for the success of his administration.
As a mark of recognition for his leadership and commitment to institutional development, the groups presented awards to the Acting Provost during the visits.
