The Kano State Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has commenced Larvicidal Control operations at ponds, refuse collection centres, disposal sites, and stagnant drainage
In a statement signed by the director of public enlightenment Kano Ministry of Environment Isma’il Gwammaja and made available to newsmen.

The statement explained that the Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Alhaji Nasiru Sule Garo, explained that the measures were aimed at eradicating mosquitoes and other insects in the metropolitan areas.
Represented by the director of pollution control Alhaji Abba Adamu Takai, he explained that apart from the Larvicidal Control they also carried out Fumigation exercises to control mosquitoes and other insects.

The Commissioner said the government is desirous and passionate about the well-being of its teeming populace by way of safeguarding and tiding off their environment to look very habitable and healthy for living.
He then commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for identifying with the yearning and aspiration of the people in the state by providing an enabling and healthy environment for the overall development.
Garo charged people in the state to reciprocate the gesture by putting all hands on the table to ensure regular sanitation exercise within homes, business places, Schools, Offices, Motor parks and other private places.
“ And dump our waste at the designated places provided by the government to avoid waterways blockers, especially during this period”
