The Kano State Ministry of Education has announced the commencement of the Eid-el-Kabir holiday for all public and private primary and secondary schools across the state.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Ministry’s Director of Public Enlightenment, Misbahu Yakasai.
According to the statement, students in boarding schools are to proceed on holiday from Saturday, May 23, 2026, and are expected to resume on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
The Ministry added that students in day schools will begin their holiday from Friday, May 22, 2026, and resume academic activities on Monday, June 1, 2026.
The statement urged parents and guardians to ensure that their children and wards are picked up on the approved closing dates and returned promptly on the scheduled resumption dates.
In his goodwill message, the Commissioner for Education, Ali Makoda, congratulated students, teachers, parents, and members of the education community on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.
He also wished residents of the state a peaceful and joyous Sallah celebration.
