The Managing Director of the Kano State Housing Corporation (KSHC), Alhaji Abdullahi Rabiu, has been re-elected as Vice President of the Association of Housing Corporations of Nigeria (AHCN) during the Association’s 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Calabar, Cross River State.
Rabiu’s re-election reflects the confidence reposed in his leadership and professional competence by housing administrators across the country. It also underscores the growing national recognition of the Kano State Government’s efforts in advancing housing development and urban infrastructure under the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The Association commended Kano State for its significant progress in expanding access to affordable housing, revitalising housing infrastructure, and implementing policies aimed at improving residents’ living standards. These achievements, it noted, have positioned Kano among the leading states in Nigeria’s housing sector.
Speaking in a telephone interview after the meeting, the Director of Public Enlightenment, Kano State Housing Corporation, Malam Ismail Garba Gwammaja, said the AGM was sponsored by Cross River State Property Development and Investment Limited (CROSPIL).
According to him, participants deliberated extensively on the theme, “Affordable Housing Solutions for Low-Income Earners in Emerging Real Estate Markets,” with discussions focusing on practical strategies for addressing Nigeria’s housing deficit.
Rabiu expressed appreciation to members of the Association for renewing their confidence in him, pledging to work closely with the executive committee to promote innovation, strengthen collaboration among housing corporations, and advance the Association’s objectives.
He dedicated the honour to the Government and people of Kano State, attributing the achievement to the visionary leadership and sustained support of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the housing sector.
The KSHC Managing Director also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the present administration’s vision by delivering sustainable, affordable, and quality housing projects aimed at improving the welfare and living conditions of the people of Kano State.
